OneLogin Announces “Secure Your Company from the SaaS Tsunami” Webinar
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) September 01, 2016 -- OneLogin, the identity management provider bringing speed and integrity to the modern enterprise, today announced a free, one-hour webinar from 9 - 10 am PST, Thursday, September 8 titled “Secure Your Company from the SaaS Tsunami.”
Featuring product team members and security experts Al Sargent of OneLogin and Michael Gleason of CloudLock, the webinar will discuss how the proliferation of unmanaged SaaS applications within companies — 600 to 1,000 SaaS apps in a typical enterprise — pose a significant security and compliance challenge for IT. In fact, according to Cisco, corporate IT only knows about and manages approximately 7 percent of this “SaaS Tsunami”. The unmanaged 93 percent pose security and compliance challenges.
“The SaaS Tsunami isn’t a fringe phenomenon you can ignore,” said OneLogin’s Sargent. “It’s rampant, growing and carries significant risks. The SaaS Tsunami grows daily as employees sign up for new SaaS apps using corporate credentials to be productive in their jobs. All it takes is a browser, a credit card, and an expense report. Each of those apps contains unmanaged corporate data that IT has no control over. Without adequate oversight, these ungoverned apps can waste budgets, violate industry regulations and provide ex-employees access through zombie accounts.”
According to Sargent, the challenges of the SaaS Tsunami are getting worse as new cloud-based applications enter the market daily. This is because there are few barriers to entry for SaaS companies, thanks to high productivity developer tools, inexpensive Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) from Amazon and others, and subscription billing services. As a result, much of the SaaS application adoption isn’t for “birthright” apps such as email and file sharing that every employee uses. Instead, it’s for apps that address specific industry and functional niches.
The interactive webinar on how to bring unmanaged SaaS apps out of the shadows will discuss the scale of the problem, outline security risks, and provide recommendations on how to address them. By registering for this webinar, attendees will learn how to:
-Quantify the scope of the SaaS Tsunami and its security impact on your business
-Hear a ten-step SaaS Tsunami risk mitigation plan, covering how to discover high-risk apps in use at your company and how to reduce their impact
-Advocate for budget to fund SaaS Tsunami remediation projects
-View a demo of real time SaaS Tsunami risk mitigation
