Social selling has become a trending sales and marketing strategy in recent years. While traditionally, a LinkedIn profile is thought to be an online professional resume, this would not be the case for a social seller. Nearly 450 million people currently have profiles on LinkedIn, and tapping into that wealth of business information has significantly increased sales for both Martinez and his clients.

Martinez said that the key is using a LinkedIn profile as a buyer’s resource page that maps to a buyer’s journey and shows exactly who they help and how they help solve real business problems. He added that when optimized correctly “it’s an excellent tool that can be search optimized, giving a competitive advantage to the company.”
