SENIORS GOT TALENT proves that aging doesn’t have to lead to inactivity
Richmond, Virginia (PRWEB) October 03, 2016 -- SENIORS GOT TALENT, a digital talent competition hosted by Seniors Guide since 2011, will break every stereotype you’ve ever had about seniors. Instead of rocking on the front porch, you’re more likely to see the seniors who compete in this contest rocking out!
One of the latest entries is a jaw-dropping Tina Turner tribute by a 55-year-old woman from Las Vegas. The physically fit grandma does high kicks, splits and handstands while a recording of Tina Turner’s “Proud Mary” plays in the background. View all entries here.
The competition, which is open to anyone age 55 and over, showcases a wide variety of talents and hobbies ranging from dancing and singing to doing pushups. Last year’s first-place winners were the Young at Heart Senior Line Dancers from Indianapolis, a spunky group of 55- to 80-year-olds, who dance for two hours, twice a week for both fun and exercise.
“Every year, we think we’ve seen it all, but the next year, we usually see something even more amazing,” admits Katharine Ross, vice president of Seniors Guide magazine.
Video entries are posted on http://www.seniorsguideonline.com, where supporters can place one vote per day for their favorite videos (with a valid email address). The senior(s) whose video receives the most votes wins $1,000, with second and third places receiving $500 and $250. Voting ends on December 31. Seniors Guide will announce the winners in January.
