HUEMOVIES is leveraging technology to help change the narrative around underrepresented independent filmmakers.

Movies can educate, entertain and inspire. Underrepresented Independent filmmakers deserve a great platform to reach a broader audience. has more than 100 films in its library including “One Night Stand” an Indie film written, produced, and directed by Chicago native Alonzo Alcaraz who filmed in the city with local cast and crew. Chicago is an ideal spot for this new venture as the city is quickly becoming a hub for independent and many major studio productions while the film festival scene has always been strong.

Capitalized in January 2016, HUEMOVIES is the brainchild of Clifford and Jacqueline Dunigan who named the company as a nod to the vast array of differences reflected in society, not just race, but also differences in ideas, behaviors, and desires. Research indicates customers are intrigued by movies originating outside Hollywood because they offer stories from different perspectives. These films are often difficult to find due to legacy distribution issues. By aggregating these films HUEMOVIES is attempting to build a platform that is economically favorable to underrepresented and emerging filmmakers.

HUEMOVIES is taking a partnership approach with filmmakers, through the development of a unique Revenue Share Optimization model (RSO) that provides filmmakers with an additional revenue stream that will help support current and future projects.

Although other competitors exist in this space HUEMOVIES has taken a niche approach to create separation. HUEMOVIES is building relationships locally with filmmakers, film festival organizers, and local film schools to spread awareness about this new platform, reaching out to emerging filmmakers.

HUEMOVIES has secured films from around the globe. The library includes a variety of feature films, shorts, and documentaries. More films are being added daily.

For a competitive $5.99 monthly fee subscribers get unlimited access to the online library. Viewing is also available on any internet-connected device and home entertainment systems that include Chromecast and AppleTV (Airplay). IOS and Android applications are in development.

HUEMOVIES offers customers alternatives not readily found on the leading streaming or curated sites; many of whom focused on developing and producing original content which ultimately becomes formulaic productions rather than organic storytelling.
