“It’s hardly a secret that traveling in general can be expensive, not to mention traveling abroad to continue your education for months, or even years at a time, which is frequent for international students.” said Bryanna Davis of Envisage International. “It’s a great feeling to help ease at least a small portion of the financial burden that these students face with the prizes offered by our annual contest.”

The contest launched September 1, 2016 and is open to all current and future international students who are at least 18 years old. Students currently studying abroad are required to submit a short video detailing any trip that they intend to take during their time as an international student, while students not yet overseas should submit a video focusing on a proposed study abroad experience. All potential contestants are encouraged to read additional contest details at

There are no restrictions on the type of cinematography or video equipment that can be used, provided that the quality of the submission is adequate. Over the past decade the Travel Video Contest has received a plethora of creative entries including stop motion and silent pictures, animated flicks, and black and white videos — all with the same focus: the desire of students to expand their horizons and receive a quality international education.

“In addition to $4,000 cash, the grand prize winner will receive a very unique prize: their own blog on the popular website to document their travels,” says Davis. “Through the blog, millions of students around the world will have the opportunity to watch the winner’s educational journey unfold, and receive a firsthand account of an international student’s personal and educational progress.”

Travel Video Contest entries cannot exceed five minutes in length and must be submitted by October 14, 2016. Following this deadline, the Viewers’ Choice Award recipient will be chosen by popular vote and the staff of will determine the contest’s finalists. The Grand Prize winner along with the second and third place recipients are chosen by a panel of worldly travelers, experts within the field of international education, and previous winners of the Travel Video Contest, including Matt Brattin, Joe Avison, Sandy Florez, Dana Brolley, Linda Melville, Mina Morgan, Sherif Barsoum, Troy Peden and Ruth Kamona.
