Gallant Maxwell Appoints new Media partner, Dina Shiloh
London, England (PRWEB UK) 2 September 2016 -- Gallant Maxwell is delighted to announce that Dina Shiloh has joined its team as a partner. Shiloh joined in June 2016 from Mishcon de Reya, where she was a senior lawyer in their reputation protection group. Shiloh was at Mishcon de Reya for nine years; her move to Gallant Maxwell marks an expansion of their media offering.
Shiloh has extensive experience as a litigator, acting for clients in relation to defamation, breach of privacy, breach of confidence and harassment, including harassment on social media such as Facebook and Twitter. She has also acted for celebrity clients whose phones have been hacked, and advised clients on managing their online profiles in order to protect their reputation. She has obtained High Court injunctions for her clients whose privacy was threatened.
Shiloh has also acted for clients in relation to data protection issues and the ECJ ruling in relation to the “right to be forgotten”. She provides pre- and post-publication advice to journalists and editors, and gives regular seminars on libel law.
Shiloh is a frequent commentator on the BBC, Sky and ITV on defamation and privacy law, and on many BBC radio programmes. Shiloh has also been quoted in the mainstream press including the Washington Post and the Guardian, and is a regular speaker on panels and at conferences. Shiloh also writes frequently for the press on legal issues. She has argued for changes in English law to respond to the rapid development of social media.
Before training as a lawyer, Shiloh had a successful fifteen-year career in journalism. This experience allows her to offer specialist insight to her clients at Gallant Maxwell. She has worked for a variety of high profile media outlets including the BBC, where she was television and radio news producer based in Jerusalem. She has also been a television news producer for American networks CNN and NBC.
Shiloh graduated from Exeter College, Oxford University, where she studied English Language and Literature, and completed her law degree at City University.
Shiloh is a trustee of the Microloan Foundation, a charity that operates in Malawi and Zambia to help women in impoverished areas build up their own businesses by offering them small loans. The loans come with business training and continual community support while the women establish stable incomes for themselves.
