ChooseATL Launches Second Annual Ultimate Job Interview Contest
ATLANTA (PRWEB) September 06, 2016 -- ChooseATL, a movement dedicated to attracting and retaining top talent to metro Atlanta, today announced the launch of its second annual Ultimate Job Interview Contest. The contest provides college students and recent graduates across the U.S. a unique opportunity to interview with senior-level executives, experience a VIP tour of Atlanta and win a $10,000 grand prize in January 2017.
Contestants may enter the Ultimate Job Interview Contest until October 17 by uploading a 90-second video to ChooseATL.com explaining why they want to make their mark in Atlanta, or by submitting a video during the contest’s collegiate roadshow, which is visiting 10 U.S. colleges and universities throughout the month of September.
Public voting for the contest will begin in mid-October followed in November by the semifinals, which is a virtual pitch competition, comprised of the top 10 vote-getters. The top three finalists will be selected from this round and invited to make their way to Atlanta in January to compete for the grand prize.
Each of the three finalists will receive an all-expense paid trip to Atlanta to dine with some of the city’s most influential leaders and view the region from a luxury helicopter ride. On the last day, finalists will interview in-person, in a Shark Tank style competition, before five top Atlanta influencers and a live audience. Here, they will compete for a cash prize of either $2,500 for third place, $5,000 for second place or $10,000 for first place.
“Making friends with the other finalists as well as getting to know the judges and continuing to foster those relationships over the past year has been invaluable,” said Karina Liles, runner up in the first Ultimate Job Interview Contest. “I strongly encourage all college students to go after this opportunity, and ChooseATL to call home.”
The Brookings Institution estimates that 75 percent of the workforce will be Millennial by 2025. This means the value of cities across the nation, including Atlanta, will increasingly be based on the depth and quality of their talent pools.
“Today, emerging talent is looking to move to a city that can provide them with a great career as well as allow them to be immersed in the culture, and the food and music scenes. They also want to make an impact on the city they call home,” said Kate Atwood, vice president of ChooseATL. “All of this is possible in Atlanta. In fact, last year we were recognized by Money as the No. 2 city for Millennials. The Ultimate Job Interview Contest provides a one-of-a-kind opportunity for them to begin making their mark.”
“Atlanta is truly the empire state of the South. It is a city where you can not only make a living, but make your entire life and home,” said Austin Mueller, winner of the first Ultimate Job Interview Contest. “With its affordable business climate, diversity, cultural opportunities and close-knit community, there’s never been a better time to ChooseATL than there is right now.”
Contest sponsors include Cox Enterprises, Inc. and the Nebo Agency along with others. The finale of the Ultimate Job Interview Contest will air on WSB-TV and other Cox affiliated stations in January 2017. “The Ultimate Job Interview Contest was a life changing experience for me,” said Chris Triplett, third place winner of the first Ultimate Job Interview Contest. “It showed me that if you put in the hard work and determination, the city of Atlanta will reward you with endless opportunities, and I’m grateful for that.”
