“Under The Terebinths”: the fascinating story of a boy becoming the man he was meant to become. Despite all odds, will he choose a life of peace and happiness or a life of being a feared master? “Under The Terebinths” is the creation of published author, Amanda Darwazeh, who has a bachelor’s degree from American Military University and a master’s degree from Kaplan University. A passion for writing has led to the pursuit of creating a novel that would inspire others to continue even in the most hopeless situations. Amanda was first recognized for her talents in writing when she was nine years old through an impromptu writing contest in her home county. This was later followed by an impromptu writing contest hosted by the local college. After being awarded for her talents and skills, she was encouraged to continue working on becoming an author and decided to pursue her dream. As a Christian author Amanda has sought to bring the name of God to the minds of her readers and hopes to be able to shed light on the beauty of a life with Jesus.
Amanda Darwazeh began writing during a difficult time in her life when a single dream brought a message of hope. "Under the Terebinths" was started following the unrelenting dream that was just too detailed to ignore. The miraculous occurrence of a singular dream that had all the twists and turns of a novel was definitely unusual and unforgettable. The result was beyond expectation, and eventually led to the publishing of the book. Even as a mother and housewife, Amanda was unable to forget the story that continuously replayed in her mind. Despite the struggles of the time, hope arose from the ashes and provided the motivation to keep faithfully working toward a final goal.
Published by Christian Faith Publishing, Amanda Darwazeh’s new book follows a young boy in a fictional coming-of-age tale of breaking from the roots of darkness to follow a life of goodness.
Rejected from birth by his embittered father, Darius never knew what made him such a loathsome person deserving of being reviled. He had made it on his own, unaware of his birthright and his connection to the enormous estate that loomed on the edge of the woods. Among the servants at Thistle Field Manor, Darius was rumored to be a wild boy who lived in the wild woods, yet his curiosity and intellect made the manor an enticing adventure for Darius to pursue. The intrigue of stealing secretly into the manor was impossible to ignore, and the clues in the whispers and rumors of the servants gave Darius a slight understanding of just how dangerous and feared he really was. What Darius knew for sure was that he could not possibly be as terrifying as the master of the house, his father, Thaddeus. Yet change was inevitable, and despite all efforts to ignore the existence of his son, Thaddeus eventually found reality staring him squarely in the face. As events unfold, Darius learns the true nature of his identity and the reason for his father’s hatred. Despite never knowing his father, Darius has to fight his carnal instincts that are guiding him down a path that will mold him to be just like his father. And eventually, his reemergence into the civilized world of his father would spell disaster for all those residing at the manor, and possibly even Darius as well. From an uncertain beginning in the security of isolation and freedom to the introduction of the luxurious world of temptation and depravity, Darius will journey toward becoming the person he most wants to be. Darius continuously wrestles with moral issues and the regret of losing the one person that entices Darius to be a better man.
