Reggae-fusion sextet welcomes Duddy B (Dirty Heads), Billy Kottage (Reel Big Fish), Hirie and more special guests on fourth studio album.

Nationally-touring reggae-fusion band Spiritual Rez releases their fourth studio album entitled "Setting in the West" today. The Boston-based eclectic sextet enlisted AWOLNATION’s Kenny Carkeet to produce the 10-track album, while Eve 6’s Max Collins served as co-producer. Special guests include rising reggae star Hirie on the ballad "Together Always,” the trombone stylings of Reel Big Fish’s Billy Kottage on “Bad Girl,” and Duddy B of the Dirty Heads on reggae-rock banger “Red Room,” which was also co-written by Goldfinger’s John Feldmann.

To date, Spiritual Rez has shared the stage with notable names like George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic, Steel Pulse, Jimmy Buffet, and countless others. Tireless touring and a higher education in music has found the band in complete harmony on stage, forging a reputation as a live act that never fails to exhilarate a crowd. Kenny Carkeet describes them as “one of the hardest working bands in showbiz.” He’s also taken note of their years of hard work paying off in the studio, saying, “Each one of the guys are incredible with their instrument, which made my job easy. Frontman Toft Willingham's outstanding voice was really fun to work with.”

In addition to Willingham, Spiritual Rez is rounded out by Ian “Meat” Miller (drums), Jesse Shaternick (bass), Mohamed Araki (keys), Quinn Carson (trombone) and Julian Dessler (trumpet). "Setting in the West" was recorded by the band at Jim Kaufman Productions in Los Angeles, CA, Hookbeat Studios in Venice Beach, CA and 9B Studios in Milford, MA. It follows their 2014 self-produced concept album, "Apocalypse Whenever," which reached #2 on the Relix/Jambands Radio Chart and #8 on the iTunes Reggae Chart.

“Setting in the West" is now available to purchase via iTunes (https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/setting-in-the-west/id1157568187). It can be streamed in its entirety via Relix Magazine (http://www.relix.com/blogs/detail/album_premiere_spiritual_rez_setting_in_the_west).
