Biometrica To Release New SSIN, Other Criminal-Tracking Tools This November
LAS VEGAS, NEVADA (PRWEB) September 08, 2016 -- Biometrica Systems, Inc., a Las Vegas and Virginia-based SaaS company focused on creating products that link the physical to the digital in order to prevent crime and track criminals and their associates, announced on Thursday that exactly sixty days from now, on Nov. 8, 2016, they would release a new version of SSIN, their Security & Surveillance Information Network.
The full-encrypted SSIN, in tandem with a series of new and updated tools coming from the Biometrica stable in November, would give casino, hotel, retail, regulatory and law enforcement clients the ability to run facial recognition scans of any individual or group on their properties and match them against a law enforcement verified database of criminals numbering in the millions, including more than one million registered sex offenders.
“Look at the numbers,” said Biometrica CEO, Wyly Wade. “According to the FBI’s violent crime statistics, there are about 33,000 violent street gangs, outlaw motorcycle gangs, and prison gangs, with about 1.4 million active members criminally active in the U.S. and Puerto Rico today. From 2007 to early 2015, more than 1,400 cases of human trafficking in hotels and motels have been reported to the National Human Trafficking Resource Center (NHTRC), and these numbers are believed to be understated and under-reported.”
He added, “The 2015 National Gang Report, based on surveys and statistics from federal, state, local and tribal law enforcement over the past two years, noted that almost half the prison facilities reported that prison gangs joined domestic extremist groups. Given all this, shouldn’t you know who that person on your property is, both from a security and safety standpoint? We believe the answer is yes.”
An October 2015 FBI release on Operation Cross Country, as their ongoing anti-trafficking initiative is called, stated that the sting operations they conducted to recover children, were focused specifically on hotels, casinos and truck-stops.
Biometrica CFO Nigel White added that some of the new features being released in November were being introduced with “business liability” in mind. “While you should know who a visitor to your property is in any case, organizations that run casinos are also required, for the most, to follow Know Your Customer norms, and keep Title 31 Anti-Money Laundering requirements in mind. Our tools will help them do that.”
According to the company’s Vice President of Business Development, Kevin Parker, the crux of the matter was in having usable information handy. “You should know if there’s a convicted pedophile on your property — you might allow him near the table games, but not near the children’s play area. If you run someone’s driver’s license at your hotel when they check in, it would be helpful to know if he or she was wanted for murder or trafficking drugs in another state. If you’re running a bar, or club, you’d want to know if your bartender over-served a known five-time drunk driver, or if someone caught on camera for an incident was actually a member of a violent street gang, wanted for human trafficking.”
Wade said that Biometrica’s new features would provide enhanced functions and solutions that would enable clients to link the physical to the digital to pinpoint criminals in real time or close to real time, and/or track them in quick time after an incident.
“We will deliver the ability to link that individual at a table game, front desk, or bar to all their known arrest data, including sex offender, DUI conviction, drug or other felon data. A customer will be able to tell if someone is a violent gang member, a person on a terror watchlist or a criminal on a wanted list at a national level. And then, through SSIN and Biometrica’s Fusion Center, our global security and surveillance hub, we will also provide clients with the ability to transmit that data to other people within an organization or region, or across the country and beyond, over our encrypted, peer-to-peer network.”
Over the next two months, the company will provide more information on the enhanced and new tools being released this November.
