LCR Hallcrest, one of the world's leading manufacturers of colour change thermometers, have teamed up with the UK’s leading supermarket Sainsbury on their recent Waste Less Save More campaign.

Food storage came out on top when customers were asked what they would find most helpful to enable them to reduce food waste in their home

The aim is to make their customers aware of the amount of food they throw away, in a bid to help them stop wasting food and start saving money. This will include tips for using leftover food, planning ahead for meals and how food can be stored to stay fresher for longer.

As part of the national campaign rolled out on 7th September 2016, Sainsbury will be giving away 1 million Fridge Thermometers on the weekend of 10th and 11th September across their supermarkets and larger convenience stores.

Food storage came out on top when customers were asked what they would find most helpful to enable them to reduce food waste in their home, so a Fridge Thermometer seemed like the perfect choice, as keeping your fridge at the correct temperature helps food stay fresher for longer.

LCR’s OK thermometer uses specialist, proprietary single colour Liquid Crystal technology that was specifically developed to meet European requirements for storing chilled food and is used by many of the world’s leading fridge manufacturers.
