Pacific Metrics Supports the Establishment of Performance Standards for ELPA21
Monterey, CA (PRWEB) September 09, 2016 -- Pacific Metrics™, a leading provider of assessment technology solutions, contracted with the ELPA21 (English Language Proficiency Assessment for the 21st Century) consortium of ten states to provide expertise and psychometric services in support of standard setting activities that were conducted during the spring and summer of this year.
The ELPA21 Consortium, led by the Oregon Department of Education and managed by the Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO), designed and developed an online assessment system for English language learners that is designed to be engaging and interactive and includes innovative questions that reflect real-world scenarios.
Pacific Metrics worked with the ELPA21 Consortium, their designated English Learner Expert Advisory Panel, and hundreds of EL educators from the ELPA21 member-states to conduct a Contrasting Groups Study and an in-person Bookmark Standard Setting workshop to establish valid cut scores in Reading, Writing, Listening, and Speaking and to establish rules associated with students’ overall Proficiency Determination to support student growth, accountability, and program decisions.
