Tympani, Inc., Rebrands Under the Name “Mindsight” to Better Align with Consultative Approach

As of September 14, Tympani will now be known as Mindsight. Mindsight is making this change to focus their message in the marketplace and align with their consultative approach.

Tympani, Inc., a Chicago-based technology consulting and engineering firm, announced its rebrand today. Tympani also evaluated its name and will now be operating as “Mindsight.” The new name is the result of a transition from a value-added reseller (VAR) of technology to a full technology and business consulting firm.

Ed Kapelinski, president of the newly-named Mindsight, explained, “We are rebranding to cut through the noise of our competitors and highlight our niche in the marketplace. Our brand focuses on our thoughtfully candid and consultative nature. It’s important to adopt a name that is easy to spell, pronounce, and fits with our business model. Mindsight is that name.”

Over the past two years, Mindsight has worked with a solid marketing agency to develop the brand. Through extensive research on the market, client relationships, and the company itself, it determined that the tech industry is only becoming more complex. The marketing language that typically surrounds new technology is fluffy and abstract. It can be difficult to know when, how, and which technologies will work as promised. The rebrand focuses Mindsight’s message and offers its clients direct, candid, and expert insight to help navigate this growing complexity.

Mindsight is a psychology term that describes an awareness of your own thoughts and feelings as well as empathy for others. This name perfectly aligns with the culture, personality, and style Mindsight has always had. Now, it has a name that can succinctly convey that message to its clients. This rebrand comes at the tail end of an exceptional year. The company’s managed services practice grew by 75% and Mindsight realized a 25% growth in the midmarket space overall. The company will still be under the same ownership, leveraging the experience of the same engineers and consultants, and still on track for a strong finish to the year.
