In a recent PwC survey of senior business leaders at 1800 large companies in North America and Europe, just 4% were classified as being ‘data elites’ and successfully using data to improve business performance. More than a quarter reported seeing ‘no or little benefit’ from their data initiatives.
It is clear that many decision makers are still not leveraging data to its full potential. This year, the Big Data & Analytics Innovation Summit will see more than 25 industry-leaders take to the stage to discuss how to successfully implement data initiatives and exploit the wealth of information at their disposal. In a recent interview with The Analytics Channel, he noted that "all departments are investing into new infrastructure and tools for data science and analytics. The biggest challenge is getting the right talent." However, of equal importance is ensuring that non-analytics decision makers are involved and not intimidated by the technical details required. Angelos Oikonomopoulos, Head of RM Analytics at Global Radio, will present on how to bridge this gap, making analytics useful and welcomed by every employee who could benefit from them.
Others speaking at BDA London include the Head of Analytics at AI, Head of Data Partnerships at Sky, and the Head of Analytics at Spotify. There will be more than 400 delegates across the 3 events, with open networking sessions providing space for discussion between talks.
