The Griffith Insurance Education Foundation Announces USAA’s Alan W. Krapf as Winner of the 2016 Lifetime Achievement Award
Malvern, PA (PRWEB) September 27, 2016 -- Alan W. Krapf, CPCU, received The Griffith Insurance Education Foundation’s 2016 Lifetime Achievement Award during a ceremony at the National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies (NAMIC) Annual Convention, held September 26 in Vancouver, British Columbia.
Candidates for the 2016 Griffith Foundation Lifetime Achievement Award were selected by The Griffith Foundation Leadership Council, which includes insurance leaders, executives and academics. This year’s winner was recognized for exemplary commitments to education and for his support of the missions of The Griffith Foundation and NAMIC.
With more than 37 years of experience in the property and casualty (P&C) insurance industry, Krapf serves as the president of the USAA Property and Casualty Insurance Group. Notable career accomplishments during his 27 years at USAA include implementing an automated underwriting strategy, leading USAA’s efforts to expand membership eligibility and leading the P&C Group’s transformation from a traditional, functional business model to an integrated, process-driven model focused on building new capabilities that benefit USAA members. Prior to USAA, Krapf led underwriting areas for MetLife Auto & Home in several regions of the United States.
Krapf has focused on educating and improving the P&C industry throughout his career, and he serves on the Board of Directors for The Institutes. He earned his CPCU designation in 1997 and has encouraged other USAA employees to pursue their insurance education. Since becoming president in 2014, 100 additional USAA employees have earned their CPCU designation.
