New York, NY (PRWEB) September 14, 2016 -- The Blonds' spring/summer 2017 runway show didn’t disappoint with abundant sparkle and drama to celebrate the brand’s 10th anniversary. In collaboration with Preciosa Crystal, design partners Phillipe and David Blond paid tribute to their roots with encrusted corsets and gowns dripping in pounds of crystal inspired by Venus and Aphrodite with a heavy metal edge.
New this season, the Blonds debuted sparkling menswear in the form of athletic sleeveless, laser cut sweaters covered in clear crystals. No opportunity to shine was missed. Even the underside of the models’ stiletto nails glimmered with large crystal stones.
“The show was meant to be stripped down to the core and to revitalize The Blonds DNA, encompassing what we are all about...glamour! Crystal is the one element that will always remain a staple in The Blonds’ collections,” said David Blond.
“In the past, embellishment had a stigma; it was thought of as gaudy or too much. When you’re using something as reflective as crystal, you can create a 3D effect. Our designs are really attention-grabbing and next level,” said Phillipe Blond.
According to Klara Kasparova of Preciosa Crystal Components, “We’re seeing a return of ‘more is more’ in fashion. The Blonds are inspiring because they take crystal creations to the extreme in style.”
Designs by the Blonds are often seen on stage on clients such as Gwen Stefani, Beyonce, Taraji P. Henson and Britney Spears.
