Introspect Technology, a MIPI Alliance Contributor Member, has announced the introduction of the SV3C DPTX8 MIPI D-PHY Generator, an ultra-compact solution for the protocol verification and electrical validation of high port count components based on the latest MIPI Alliance D-PHY 2.0 specification. The generator provides the ability to create arbitrary protocol traffic according to the CSI-2 and DSI-2 specifications as well as custom patterns with complete D-PHY 2.0 signaling characteristics. Featuring programmable voltage, timing, frequency, and pre-emphasis controls, the generator represents a future-proof test solution for a range of existing and future MIPI D-PHY specifications. The generator is also extremely miniature thus saving valuable lab or production test floor space.

D-PHY has been a workhorse for the mobile industry for a number of years, and it continues to evolve in support of innovations in mobile and mobile-influenced applications. And with multi-port implementations of D-PHY come unique test requirements both at the protocol level and the electrical level. The SV3C DPTX8 generator, which will start shipping in Q4 of this year, addresses these requirements by offering link partitioning and alignment features and by providing a unified programming environment for multi-link operation.
