Semper Fi Fund and The Home Depot Foundation Expand their Partnership on Behalf of U. S. Armed Forces Service Members and their Families
Camp Pendleton, CA (PRWEB) September 19, 2016 -- The Semper Fi Fund and The Home Depot Foundation have announced an expanded partnership that will mean more assistance to post-9/11 wounded, critically ill and injured members of all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces and their families. The Home Depot Foundation will be providing $2.2 million to assist the Semper Fi Fund’s mission of providing immediate financial assistance and lifetime support, ensuring that the service members they assist have the resources needed for recovery and transition back to their communities.
The Home Depot Foundation has been a Semper Fi Fund partner since 2011, working to ensure that injured and aging veterans have homes where they can live independently, that homeless veterans have transitional/permanent supportive housing and that veterans of all ages have the community support they need. Through The Home Depot Foundation, The Home Depot is committing to grow their investment in veteran-related causes to $250 million by 2020.
“Everyone at the Fund is thrilled and honored to have The Home Depot Foundation as our partner,” said Semper Fi Fund President, Executive Director and Founder Karen Guenther. “Their partnership and support has changed so many lives for the better. A stable home environment is a critical part of a successful transition from active military life to productive civilian life, and The Home Depot Foundation has been right beside us on the front lines, giving back to those who have given so much to all of us.”
“The Home Depot Foundation is proud to partner with Semper Fi Fund in its mission to serve those who have so faithfully served us. They are a strong partner and among the top organizations helping our veterans in need recover and thrive after their service. It is partnerships like this that were the impetus to the Foundation expanding our commitment. We look forward to continuing our work with Semper Fi Fund,” said Shannon Gerber, Executive Director, The Home Depot Foundation.
The Semper Fi Fund provides urgently needed resources and lifetime support for wounded, critically ill and injured members of the U.S. Armed Forces and their families. Case managers from the Semper Fi Fund work one-on-one with service members and veterans in order to understand and support their individual needs right now and throughout their lifetime. We keep our overhead low so that each donation has the greatest impact on the lives of service members and veterans. The Semper Fi Fund is one of only two veteran charities to receive an "A+" rating from The American Institute of Philanthropy and a four-star rating from Charity Navigator.
