Water Life Science® advocate Sharon Kleyne, host of The Sharon Kleyne Hour Power of Water radio program, declared today that the water debacle that has decimated Flint, Michigan never should have happened and ought to be remedied at once. Kleyne praised Presidential hopeful Donald Trump for telling it like it is in his recent visit to Flint. “It used to be,” Trump said, “that you were told to buy a car in Flint, but don’t drink the water in Mexico. Now it’s the exact opposite! You have to buy a car in Mexico, and you can’t drink the water in Flint! That has to change!”

The crisis, Kleyne pointed out, is a familiar one borne of ill-conceived short-cuts and a blatant disregard of federal clean water guidelines. “When the city of Flint temporarily switched its water supply from a safe Lake Huron to the dangerous Flint River while a new pipeline was under construction,” Kleyne said, “city officials thought only of cutting costs and neglected to treat the river water for toxic corrosive elements. Pipes also leached lead into the water, creating a death brew for the city’s 100,000 women, men and children.”

Kleyne, the founder of Bio-Logic Aqua® Research Water Life Science® who also discovered a rare Trade Secret tissue culture grade water in Oregon, said that the water crisis in Flint came about because of general ignorance about our most important natural resource and a shameful lack of water research. “Water research ought to be our number one infrastructure priority,” Kleyne insisted. “The air we breathe will not keep us or anything else alive if we destroy the water vapor in that air. Remember that we are mostly water,” Kleyne continued. “The eye lens is 99 percent water; the brain is 80-85 percent water; the lungs and liver are 70-80 percent water; the blood is 50 percent water; even the bones are 20 percent water. We are fluid. Everything around us is made of water. Hope doesn’t keep us alive; the atmospheric water vapor does that.

“The surface of the eye and the rest of the body must be supplemented every day—and even several times a day—to counteract evaporation of the water vapor,” said Kleyne. “That’s why I supplement the water vapor of my eyes and skin with Nature’s Tears® EyeMist® and Nature’s Mist® Face of the Water®.

Kleyne applauded the recent efforts of non-profit relief agencies, volunteers, city and local government to deliver bottled water and water filters to Flint residents. These efforts are turning the tide, but it will take a long time before Flint tap water is safe again. “Water education and water research will prevent a Flint water disaster from happening somewhere else,” said Kleyne. “Until then, I think we’re all stung by Mr. Trump’s insight that we have to go to Mexico now to buy a car, and we can’t drink the water in one of our own great cities!”
