Calling all Miami nonprofits: Charitable organization, Brackets For Good, challenges your organization to friendly competition and a chance to win $10,000!

Indianapolis-based Brackets For Good hosts online, bracket-style fundraising tournaments every March in communities around the United States. Participating nonprofits rally enthusiastic donors to out-fundraise their opponents in order to advance. Through the excitement, localized marketing, and corporate involvement; nonprofits earn increased exposure, gain access to free fundraising tools, and are introduced to new donors.

Since Brackets For Good’s kickoff contest in 2012, it has raised more than $2.75 million for local charities. Due to the overwhelming success, the tournaments have since expanded from Indianapolis, Louisville, Ann Arbor, St. Louis, and Twin Cities and will break into several other markets in 2017, including Cincinnati, Miami, Nashville, Denver, Hartford, and Baltimore.

To participate, charities should register free at https://miami.bfg.org/city by Oct. 28, 2016. More than a dozen Miami nonprofits have already registered to be considered to play in the 2017 tournament, which starts Feb 24 2017.

The positive impact of the Brackets For Good tournament on the Miami-area is only made possible due to the support of local businesses dedicated to the community.

“We’re always looking for innovative ways to generate social impact.” This was the comment of Bill Burdette, Board President of the Center for Social Change, about their sponsorship of a Brackets for Good tournament being organized for Spring 2017. According to Burdette, “the Center is a ‘social laboratory’ in which they mix inventive thinking with the pursuit of social good. Brackets For Good aligns perfectly with this purpose, and we’re thrilled with the potential impact we can have on well deserving charities that are serving the local Miami community.”

Brackets For Good 2017 Miami sponsors include: Center for Social Change, Bloomerang, and Lids.

“Miami is a vibrant community with a strong commitment to social innovation,” said Reid McDowell, Partnerships & Marketing Director of Brackets For Good. “Layer on the area’s spirited sports scene and the city becomes the ideal place to host a competitive online fundraising event that harnesses the power of sport and innovative technology to help local nonprofits raise awareness and funds for their causes.”
