InterSpec Receives Grant from Maine Technology Institute to Enhance the Technology Landscape for Federal Government Construction Projects
South Portland, Maine (PRWEB) September 23, 2016 -- InterSpec, a spec writing software company based in South Portland, Maine, has been awarded a $23,000 grant from the Maine Technology Institute (MTI) to develop, market and integrate the Unified Facilities Guide Specification (UFGS) documents into their industry leading specification automation management system called e-SPECS. The UFGS guide specifications documents are used extensively for construction projects worldwide by National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), the U.S. Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC), and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE).
With this integration InterSpec will be the only commercial company to be able to fully support BIM Integrated UFGS based specifications with AutoDesk’s Revit, one of the premier 3D modeling software programs used world wide in large scale construction projects.
“This grant from MTI will allow InterSpec to have a competitive advantage and expand previously unavailable BIM integration for large scale federal construction projects and that will inevitably help with the growth of the company,” said Gilles Letourneau, president, CEO and founder of InterSpec Inc. “We are excited about this project and are grateful to MTI for the opportunity to make this significant addition in our product offerings.”
The company expects to have a beta version of the new product in the fourth quarter.
