(PRWEB) September 21, 2016 -- Do you want your lawn to look its best? Maybe you just want it look better. Not everyone needs a golf course looking lawn. Unfortunately to have a lawn that looks like a golf course, you have to pay golf course prices.
What if you could make your lawn look 30% better, or maybe 40% better. What if I know how to make your lawn 50% better without costing golf course lawn prices? What if I could make your lawn look better than every other lawn on the block?
Today I want to share with you the start to having significantly better turf. I'm also going to share with you how to reduce weeds and replace the weeds in your lawn with grass. It's really simple really. What I am going to share with you is a simple trick to have a great looking lawn. Besides this is one of the tricks golf courses use.
Lets start by talking about what happens to your lawn over time. Over time your lawn becomes more compacted and the roots of your lawn can no longer penetrate the ground. When the lawn becomes compacted it becomes more "impervious" sort of like asphalt. So instead of your lawn acting like a sponge it allows water to flow over the ground like a paved road. Since the water is not penetrating the ground like it should, it is not allowing a proper amount of water into the root system of the turf and also depriving the ground of the proper nutrients it needs.
As your lawn degrades, weeds and erosion take over. Weeds can grow in much worse conditions and usually have shallower root systems, allowing them to grow in conditions that normal grasses won't tolerate. Once Weeds start taking a strong hold on your lawn they slowly start to migrate and choke out your lawn and soon they take over most or all of your lawn.
So, how do we fix compaction? Is the process invasive? Will it wreck my lawn? The answer is, Lawn Aeration! The process is non invasive, and it will not wreck your lawn. In fact you will barely be able to tell we were there.
The process of aerating involves using a special machine called a lawn aerator to remove tiny cores from the lawn. The cores are about one inch long and about three quarter of an inch around. By removing cores from your lawn, this relieves the compaction, allows water to penetrate your lawns roots, and also helps remove thatch from your lawn. This also allows vital nutrients back into your lawn.
The optimal time to aerate your lawn is in the the cool of the fall. It is recommended at that time you also fertilize and over seed your lawn at the time of aeration. This allows the seed to enter the holes where the plugs were removed. By aerating in the fall, it gives the new seed time to germinate in the ground, and leaves you with a great looking lawn next spring.
