New Software Allows Tracking of Critical Event Details
West Hartford, CT (PRWEB) September 21, 2016 -- BlumShapiro Consulting, a division of Blum, Shapiro & Co, PC, the largest regional business advisory firm based in New England, today announced it has created Get Fest, a web-based app that provides valuable and critical event details.
BlumShapiro Consulting will introduce a new feature to this year’s Southington Apple Festival with the new Get Fest application. The 2016 Apple Harvest Festival located in Southington, CT is a family-oriented event which attracts over 100,000 visitors annually.
“As we approach our 50th Anniversary, the Committee continues to look for ways to retain our small-town feel while providing the best experience possible for our visitors. Our attendance grows each year and we need tools to engage and assist them as they navigate through the festival. Get Fest will start with the parade and evolve to include other elements of the festival such as vendor locations and event schedules”, said Jim Champagne, Festival Coordinator.
Get Fest is a web-based app that allows the parade committee, volunteers and participants to view the float drop off locations, road closure points and other critical event details.

“We are excited to deliver this tracker to the Apple Harvest Festival. It is the first of its kind in Connecticut and the feedback we receive from the parade spectators and participants will help us to fine tune the application and build on it for future years”, said Hector Luciano, manager at BlumShapiro Consulting.
Come parade day you will be able to follow the action and be in the know! Parade chaperones will be stationed at the start of each division as well as at the end of the parade. At pre-determined locations on the route they will transmit an update allowing spectators to follow the progress of the parade. Also, a full parade lineup will be provided so you can find which division and positions within each of the divisions along with the destination of a specific attraction.
“One of the key uses for the tracker is a parent whose child is marching. Once you are seated to watch the parade, you may be asking yourself, how do you know when they will be moving past your location and when you need to meet them at the finish point? The Get Fest tracker will take the guesswork out! You will see the movement of the parade live. For the casual spectator, it’s nice to have an idea of what is coming next and this marries the tradition of the parade with our desire for information and updates”, said Michelle White office manager at BlumShapiro Consulting.
In addition, the festival is held over the course of two weekends each autumn, it offers a variety of live music and entertainment, food, contests, crafts, children’s activities, carnival rides, fireworks and much more! This year the festival is being held September 30, October 1-2 and October 7 – 9. For more information please visit http://www.southington.org/ahf.
