The restaurant, which boasts internationally acclaimed track star Usain Bolt as its key partner, started operations in Kingston, Jamaica in April 2011 and is the first restaurant of its type in the island. The restaurant sold its first franchise earlier last year to a local businessman and woman who operate in the island’s well-known tourist destination. Usain Bolt’s Tracks & Records in Ocho Rios will cater especially to tourists who seek the full experience of Jamaican culture- sports, music, vibes and authentic cuisine.    

Bolt who partners with Jamaican company, KLE Group, on this restaurant recently brought even more attention to the island nation by breaking Olympic records- being the first man to win in the 100m, 200m and 4x 100m in three consecutive Olympics.

“Wherever I go people know who I am and tell me how much they love Jamaica. They talk about how much they love the food, our music and everything that makes up Jamaica”, states Usain Bolt. “I think of this as taking my home and everything I love about home to the world.” says Bolt who is excited about expanding the franchise to other destinations globally.

“My partners and I are now speaking to prospects in the USA, the United Kingdom and the Middle East and of course are excited about recruiting franchisees from other parts of the world as well.”

“This is a great opportunity and there is great demand for the franchise given new trends in franchise purchases globally”, states Gary Matalon who is CEO of the KLE Group. “ We see where globally there is greater demand for ethnic foods and entertainment experiences that incorporate music, great and different foods and a cultural experience.”

The national brand has claimed notoriety in the past thirty years with well known Bob Marley, exceptional sports performances and of course the music of the nation which is now incorporated into rap, hip hop and other genres.

Usain Bolt’s Tracks & Records brings a taste of real Jamaican vibes with ‘cool’ entertainment and a mix of Jamaican cuisine, coupled with operating at an international level that has made this franchise so attractive to investors.

Qualifying franchisees are able to acquire a franchise by paying a US$50k initial franchise fee. They can expect the overall initial investment to cost them an average of US$1m. Thereafter they will pay a royalty going forward. This covers the brand, the entire restaurant system and all the support.
