Calvary Hospital to Host 10th Annual Spiritual Care Day
Bronx, NY (PRWEB) September 21, 2016 -- Calvary Hospital will host its 10th annual Spiritual Care Day from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 19 in Fordham Lincoln Center's Pope Auditorium located at 113 West 60th St., New York, NY.
The Hospital will be collaborating for the first time with the Fordham University Global Healthcare Innovation Management Center and the Collaborative for Palliative Care. The theme for Calvary’s event will be: “Sacred Encounters: Bridging Hope and Faith.”
Speakers will include, but are not limited to: Michael J. Brescia, MD, Calvary Hospital; Sr. Kathleen Deignan, CND, Ph.D., Iona College; and Mark P. Freeman, Ph.D., College of the Holy Cross.
Experts will lead workshops on topics such as Mindfulness/Complementary Clinical Modalities, Sacred Space/Concept of Home for Patients near the End of Life, Research Concepts: Spirituality and Healthcare Outcomes, Psychological Suffering and Delirium at the End of Life, and A National and Theological Dilemma: Medical Aid-in-Dying.
Doctors, nurses, social workers, chaplains/pastoral care providers in all settings and other health care professionals are welcome. There is no fee to attend. Kosher and halal meals are available upon advance request.
