Versare Creates Temporary Classrooms for Displaced Louisiana Flood Students
Minneapolis, MN (PRWEB) September 23, 2016 -- Versare Solutions LLC has stepped up to create classrooms in a desperate time of need for several hundred Louisiana students who were displaced from their school during early August floods. After Tanglewood Elementary, located in Central, Louisiana, suffered severe water damage to their school, Versare Solutions, a manufacturer and retailer of portable partitions and room dividers, was tasked with creating 27 classrooms at Central Middle School. The school agreed to host the children for the first several weeks of classes until the damage could be repaired.
After receiving a call from Central Middle School located in Baton Rouge, Versare Solutions was asked if they could provide 73 of their most popular partition, the Room Divider 360, to the school within six days. The company was fast to work, being able to complete the order quickly and hand-deliver the materials to the school to assist with proper configuration.
“We understand the importance of students being able to start the school year on time, and were happy to provide a solution to Central Middle School so they could comfortably host the students from Tanglewood Elementary,” said Robert Jantschek, President of Versare. “We’re fortunate to have a highly skilled workforce and a large capacity and robust supply chain that allowed us to design, fabricate, deliver and install these 27 temporary classrooms in less than six days. The timeframe was important because our deadline was based on when schools were starting after summer break.”
Versare’s Room Divider 360 partitions are known for their durability and arrangement flexibility, due to an exclusive 360-degree rotating hinge. Businesses across the United States have used the dividers to create classrooms, offices, work spaces, bedrooms, prayer rooms, event/speaker rooms and more. The lightweight room dividers are easy to transport, set-up and take down, making them an ideal choice for creating portable classrooms. In addition, the acoustic panels contain noise-dampening acoustical fabric for displaying pushpin signage, artwork, or other documents, providing the perfect temporary setting for students and teachers.
The temporary classrooms were set-up in two gymnasiums and one common area. Each room was sectioned-off with Room Divider 360s adorned with hanging whiteboards and temporary power cables. Each space was then filled with 30 desks and chairs creating enough space to effectively house roughly 900 displaced students.
Tanglewood Elementary was the only school of five in the area to sustain significant water damage. In addition, roughly 60 percent of school employees suffered some kind of flood damage to their homes or vehicles as well as 118 of the 318 school buses. As of August 19, reconstruction of Tanglewood Elementary had begun, but it was expected to take eight to 10 weeks to complete, according to Central’s Assistant Superintendent Sandy Davis.
