Local Financial Advisor and Community Leader Lorraine Johnson to Receive Prestigious 2016 "Legend" Award
Raleigh, NC: (PRWEB) September 23, 2016 -- Highly credentialed and experienced financial service representative, Lorraine Johnson, is set to receive the LGBT Center of Raleigh’s most prestigious award—the 2016 Distinguished Service Award. Johnson’s efforts in her professional service and community involvement have not gone unnoticed over the past two decades. She has spent both her professional and personal life supporting the Raleigh community, and the acknowledgement from the LGBT organization comes as no surprise to many of her clients and fellow organization members.
Community leader and Shades of Pride organizer LaToya Hankins says, “Lorraine is a bright, shining light, a wealth of information, and a perfect example of a person who is as good as her word … and her words and deeds are exceptional.”
Johnson has earned a reputation for putting the Raleigh community first, and has been recognized for her achievements and commitment. In addition to this year’s award, Johnson holds the 2015 Chapter Corporate Partner of the Year award from the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO), as well as the 2009 Political Advocacy Award and the Mary Diener Spirit Award also from NAWBO. Principal Financial Group awarded Johnson the Personal Financial Planning Producer of the Year in 2003, 2005 and 2006.
"To say that I am deeply humbled to be this year's Distinguished Service Award recipient is an understatement. What an honor it is for me to have the privilege of doing the work that I love and being in a position to support a community that does so very much for others,” said Lorraine Johnson upon hearing of the group’s decision to honor her at this year’s event.
This year’s LGBT Center of Raleigh Awards Gala will take place in the popular Sheraton Raleigh Hotel in downtown Raleigh on October 7, 2016 from 7pm-10pm. Lorraine Johnson will be receiving the Distinguished Service Award for her work and political advocacy for the LGBT community in Raleigh.
