Greenberg Traurig Shareholder Danielle N. Garno Appointed Chair-Elect of the Miami-Dade Beacon Council’s Creative Design Committee
MIAMI – (PRWEB) September 23, 2016 -- Danielle N. Garno, a shareholder in the Miami Litigation Practice of international law firm Greenberg Traurig, P.A., will assume the leadership role as Chair-Elect of Miami-Dade Beacon Council’s Creative Design Committee October 1, 2016. She will be the first female Chair-Elect of the committee. During her one-year term, Garno will work to help advance the organization’s efforts to help increase jobs and investment in the county. She will become chair of the Creative Design Committee in Oct. 2017.
The Beacon Council is Miami-Dade County’s official economic development partnership. The not-for-profit public-private organization seeks to diversify Miami Dade’s economy with increased job opportunities and investment in a wide range of sectors. Creative Design is one of Miami-Dade's seven target industries. The County is a creative mecca with television and movie production facilities, renowned fashion designers and brands and high-profile fashion shows.
“This is such an exhilarating opportunity, and I am honored to be the first woman to assume this position,” Garno said. “My goal is to affect change by working with other professionals to strengthen industry partnerships and bolster the growth and expansion of these key industries.”
At Greenberg Traurig, Garno’s law practice focuses on issues faced by the fashion community, including the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, trademark infringement, anti-counterfeiting, employment, and general business litigation. Her practice also includes working on complex civil litigation with an emphasis on white-collar defense and fraud actions.
Garno is also actively involved with professional and community organizations. She is the current Fundraising Chair, and former Board Chair, of the Children’s Home Society of Florida’s Southeastern Board. Garno is Secretary of Fashion Group International of South Florida, and she also sits on the board of Style Saves. She is a member of the American Bar Association, Miami Beach Jewish Community Center’s Arts & Culture Committee and the Attorney’s Committee of Greater Miami Jewish Federation.
