ZyDoc, a New York-based medical transcription and informatics company, has signed an agreement to provide Copley Hospital, Morrisville, Vermont with web-based transcription and EHR data insertion services utilizing ZyDoc’s TrackDoc Flow platform.

ZyDoc’s interface to the hospital’s eClinicalWorks® EHR allows physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, and doctors to dictate their reports into a smartphone or tablet for transcription by ZyDoc and insertion into the EHR at the section level. With the TrackDoc Flow mobile app, users can remotely connect into their eClinical Works patient appointment schedules, electronically review and sign transcribed documents, and auto-fax documents to referring practices.

According to ZyDoc Vice President of Sales, Kevin Ross, “We are pleased to provide Copley Hospital with ZyDoc’s award-winning transcription services in conjunction with section-level EHR data insertion. Our integrated TrackDoc Flow solution is ideally suited to the hospital and practice environment because it allows physicians to securely transmit, access, and approve documentation for the EHR with their smartphones or tablets from any location, rather than performing tedious data entry or interfacing with third-party scribes.”

As with all ZyDoc products, TrackDoc Flow is HIPAA-secure. Users are required to input a password to open their mobile devices, then enter a User ID and second password to use the app. All transmissions use 256-bit encryption. The app is available for iOS and Android devices.

The first rollout of the service at Copley Hospital is for clinicians in the orthopedics, OB/GYN, and multi-specialty (cardiology, urology, general surgery) departments. ZyDoc’s full complement of EHR interfaces for hospitals and medical practices also includes an interface to CPSI®, the EHR utilized by Copley Hospital for acute patient records, and is potentially available for future deployment by the hospital.

“Copley’s providers have found the ZyDoc platform a great aid in completing their progress notes quickly, with a high quality progress note for the patient medical record,” states Randy Chesley, Copley Hospital’s Director of IT. “They find it easy to use, and it fits well into their workflow.”
