Lumeris, a pioneer in population health management solutions headquartered in St. Louis, is pleased to announce the appointment of Greg Alexander as national vice president of market operations.

Alexander, a 20-year healthcare veteran with proven experience in population health services, will provide executive leadership, strategic vision and business management for Lumeris to drive overall solution outcomes. He will drive the performance and results of diverse functions throughout management and will lead teams of operators, clinicians, technologists and program managers. Alexander reports to J. Patrick Foley, senior vice president of delivery and operations.

“Lumeris is an evolving company in a fast-paced industry and Greg’s past population health experience makes him a great fit for our organization,” said Foley. “He will be instrumental in creating a scalable, high-quality partnership model, responsible for delivering sustainable population health outcomes in collaboration with health systems, payers and providers.”

Before joining Lumeris, Alexander worked with IU Health’s provider-sponsored health plans as a market president for Evolent Health. He has more than 20 years of leadership experience, 15 of which were spent operating Medicare and Medicaid health plans. Alexander also served as president for Community Care Alliance of Illinois, a provider-owned and sponsored start-up health plan in the greater Chicago area serving seniors, dual eligibles and persons with disabilities. He also served as vice president and general manager of Universal American’s (UAM) Indiana and Oklahoma health plan operations, where he led the launch of UAMs Medicare Advantage HMO product line in Indiana and the expansion of the PPO product into 89 new counties in six markets across three states.

“Population health is the best place to be in healthcare today and I couldn’t be more excited to join the leading company in that space,” said Alexander. “I’ve been so impressed with Lumeris’ proven model, the high-caliber talent in the growing organization and the responsiveness to the market needs.”

Alexander, a Carmel, Ind., resident, is a graduate of Virginia Tech University with a bachelor of arts degree in history. Following graduation, he was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant and served as a communications and electronics officer in the United States Marine Corps 6th Marine Regiment and oversaw the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit.
