Seattle Fire Department Uses NPPGov/FireRescue GPO Contract for Major Purchase
Seattle, WA (PRWEB) September 28, 2016 -- The City of Seattle and the Seattle Fire Department have completed a major purchase using the NPPGov / FireRescue GPO MES contract. This expensive and mission critical life safety equipment procurement was due to a department-wide upgrade to the type of breathing apparatus their firefighters use to meet the current NFPA 1981 Standards.
“Ensuring our firefighters have the equipment they need to stay safe and perform their jobs is our first priority,” said Assistant Chief A. D. Vickery. “Working with MES allowed us to obtain the gear we needed in the required timeframe.”
In order to complete the procurement in a timely fashion and take advantage of the FEMA AFG Grant, the City elected to work with MES, a nationally recognized fire equipment distributor. MES was established in 2001 and has quickly grown to be the largest supplier of the most trusted brands in the fire industry.
The completed order was a multi-million dollar purchase of Scott Safety SCBA equipment.
