Southcommon Dental Now Offers CEREC Single Appointment Restoration

Dental crowns, veneers, inlays and onlays can now be made in one appointment with CEREC. This eliminates the need for messy impressions and multiple injections for anesthesia, and allows you to spend less time in the dental office.

Southcommon Dental ( is pleased to announce that it now offers CEREC single appointment restoration services.

CEREC technology allows Southcommon Dental to make high quality porcelain restorations in one appointment. Instead of taking a messy mould, a special camera takes pictures of your teeth and using advanced computer software, the restoration, such as a dental crown or veneer, will be designed. Once designed, the design files are sent to an in-office milling machine that grinds the restoration from a block of porcelain. Finally, once the restoration is created, it is inserted into the mouth to check for fit and appearance. After your dentist is satisfied with fit and appearance, the restoration is treated and bonded into place, all in a single appointment.

Why use CEREC?
- Saves time – The CEREC restoration is designed, milled and placed in only one treatment session. No impression, no temporary fillings/crowns and no second appointment are required.
- Durability – CEREC restorations have a long lifespan (at least equivalent to gold). This has been proven in long-term studies.
- Esthetic – All-ceramic CEREC restorations optimally match natural tooth colour and form.
