DiskZIP Software Launches New DiskZIP 2017: Accelerating Disk Read Speeds, Even On SSD Hardware, Using Unique Patent Pending Transparent PC Disk Compression Technology
Sydney, Australia (PRWEB) September 27, 2016 -- DiskZIP Computing has launched DiskZIP 2017, a transparent disk compression utility for Windows users, power users, administrators, and networks. DiskZIP 2017 includes patent pending technology which accelerates disk read speeds, even on SSD hardware that is already very fast; while also making more space available on disks which are accelerated - a very positive side effect of the acceleration technology.
DiskZIP works, because it is faster for modern CPU’s to read compressed (shorter) data from a disk and then to decompress it in memory, then it is to read uncompressed (longer) data from a disk, even if nothing needs to be decompressed after. DiskZIP’s patent pending technology includes five distinct compression algorithms, each designed for a specific class of disk.
The slowest disks, referred to as hard disk drives, or mechanical disks, or spinning platter drives, benefit from the strongest DiskZIP compression algorithm. These disks are very slow, and DiskZIP compresses data as tightly as possible, to minimize the amount of time spent reading from disk, thus maximizing overall read performance and accelerating disk read speeds.
The fastest disks, referred to solid state disks, or flash disk drives, benefit from the quickest DiskZIP compression algorithm. These disks are already very fast, so DiskZIP compresses data in as little time as possible, letting the fast underlying storage share more of the burden of reading data. Even on SSD class devices, DiskZIP accelerates disk read performance noticeably.
DiskZIP comes in a very user friendly package, supporting all Windows versions available today, and accelerating disks in a single click. Should a user decide to undo the acceleration, this is also supported within the software.
In addition to disk acceleration and the space increase effects of DiskZIP, it is also possible to use DiskZIP as a line of defense against malware. After a disk has been accelerated, all of its data as found at the time of its acceleration becomes impregnable to malware. While malware may still wreak havoc on a PC and delete files created and/or modified after the time of acceleration; users may employ the one-click System Refresh function built-in to the DiskZIP package to reset their PC and get rid of the malware instantly.
