No one wants to help a breastfeeding mother with a newborn more than dads and grandmas. This new book is a valuable tool to guide them.

Caring for a newborn and trying to find a new rhythm to life can be extremely difficult for families. Many first-time moms have found that breastfeeding comes with unforeseen challenges and obstacles, and that it works best when dads and grandmas support and encourage them. Dads and grandmas more often than not have the best intentions for helping, but may not know the best ways to do so.
The Importance of Dads and Grandmas to the Breastfeeding Mother by Wendy Jones provides an overview of breastfeeding and offers many specific suggestions on how to support breastfeeding mothers. This book began as a tribute to Jones’ son-in-law, who died at age 35, three months after becoming a new father. It developed into a tool for supporting other new families. The Importance of Dads and Grandmas to the Breastfeeding Mother is dedicated to his memory. It is now available for pre-order in the Praeclarus Press webstore.
Wendy Jones has been supporting breastfeeding families since 1987, and is now a grandmother of four breastfed children. Following the birth of first grandson, she looked for information that would help her support her daughter. Coming from that new perspective, she learned even more about breastfeeding than she had as a breastfeeding mother. Her goal is to show how partners and grandmothers can help the women in their lives who have just given birth.
