New Book Debut: Lean In & Let Go™, A Women’s Guide to Creating a Life You Love

Fontella Moody is one victim of millions, who has suffered from domestic violence and sexual assault. In honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month throughout October, Moody is convicted to share her story and offer 13 success tips to inspire, motivate and empower women to live the life they desire and deserve.

Moody’s book will make its local debut at Charlie’s Bar & Grill on Wednesday, Sept. 28 from 5-7 p.m. located at 7307 Georgia Ave. NW, Washington, D.C.

The bad news: On average, 24 people per minute or victims of rape, physical violence or stalking by an intimate partner, which is the equivalent of more than 12 million individuals per year, according to the National Domestic Violence Hotline. Of those, nearly three in ten women report these incidents impact their ability to function in their daily lives. The good news: New author, life coach and trusted business advisor, Fontella Moody launches her first book Lean In & Let Go™, A Women’s Guide to Creating a Life You Love in which she divulges 13 tried-and-true, personal approaches that have helped her cope with her childhood molestation and experience of intimate partner abuse. Some are common sense. Moody derives others from actual experience. Still others are actionable exercises. When combined and practiced daily, these tips can lead to a fulfilling and happy life.

The book is published by Jackson Publishing.

Lean In & Let Go™ is also the impetus to a series of hands-on workshops to help women determine and define their life vision with actionable steps to get them from where they are today to where they want to be in the near and long-term future. The first workshop was held this past weekend free-of-charge in collaboration with five nonprofit organizations that serve Charles County, Maryland and made possible by the support of 12 local business partners.
