Home sales are steady as big plans are in the works for Falls at Imperial Oaks. Despite the oil slump, Holcomb Properties is gearing up for new construction within the 1,500-acre development.

Expansion of Falls at Imperial Oaks includes 800-acres of new development, with plans to incorporate multi-use retail space. Holcomb is working with commercial partners to build shops, apartments and offices along the Grand Parkway frontage road.

With homes priced from $200,000 to $800,000, Falls at Imperial Oaks is now developing the last 500 home lots in the community.

Growth will be accommodated by new access roads, on-site schools and additional amenities. A new recreation center, equipped with beach entry pool, splash pad, covered pavilion and a fire pit with several grilling areas is expected to open Summer 2017.

Development includes a 100-acre lake and 44-acres of a nature trail system known as Woodson’s Gully. Residents will have the opportunity to hike, kayak, or fish without leaving the neighborhood.

The YMCA of Greater Houston plans to build a state-of-the-art, two-story facility in the community. Named The Holcomb Family YMCA, for the James "Jim" Holcomb family, will be built on 10 acres overlooking the lake. It will offer health and wellness activities, aquatics, youth after-school care, summer day camp, summer sports clinics, teen programs and senior activities.

Construction aside, Falls at Imperial Oaks has a growing reputation as a “tight-knit” socially active community. Homebuyers are drawn by the numerous events hosted throughout the year— such as ladies craft night, seniors social, art in the park, or family fitness day.
