The BNI Smyrna Business Exchange, a chapter of BNI Georgia and North Carolina, has been ranked as the top BNI chapter in the region for the last 28 months.

Business and Sales Coach Kim Ellet has been appointed president of the BNI Smyrna Business Exchange, which has been ranked as the top BNI chapter in the region for the past 28 months. Ellet is the owner of The Growth Coach of Metro Atlanta and an experienced business owner and coach.

“I visited a number of local BNI chapters over the years, but I wasn’t sure they were for me. When I found this group though, the time was right and the people were right – it just felt like a great fit. The energy, dedication and knowledge the members of the BNI Smyrna Business Exchange bring to the group is extraordinary and I’m honored to have been asked to serve as the president,” Ellet said. “Any team is only as strong as its members and we’ve had the opportunity to bring on people who are fully committed to continuing to uphold the value and purpose of the group as a whole.”

The BNI Smyrna Business Exchange is a chapter of BNI Georgia and North Carolina. The mission of BNI is to help members increase their business through a structured, positive, and professional word-of-mouth program that enables them to develop long-term, meaningful relationships with quality business professionals. The philosophy of the group is “givers gain.”

“When Kim Ellet joined our group she immediately began making contributions to the members and our guests. She adapted effortlessly to our culture making strong contributions to grow our membership and raise the level of performance. Kim adapted so well we asked her to help with our mentoring and on-boarding of new members where she has added structure, ideas, and solid leadership. We are excited and extremely confident about the upcoming year with Kim leading the BNI Smyrna Business Exchange,” said Terry Caruthers, the Smyrna Business Exchange’s returning vice president and owner of Stryker Insurance Company.

Ellet has an extensive background in sales and marketing, public relations and advocacy, spanning small businesses, start-ups, non-profits and franchises. She graduated with a BA in Communications from the University of Georgia and earned the Certified Professional Coach (CPC) designation from the Institute of Professional Excellence in Coaching. As a nearly life-long resident of Cobb County, she’s also a proud member of Cobb Chamber of Commerce, Cobb Executive Women, Cobb Chamber Ambassadors and CEO Roundtable.

“I started my career more than 25 years ago in the hospitality industry, was a co-owner of several small businesses and worked in non-profits as well. I understand the many hats that owners of small- to medium-size businesses wear and I am passionate about helping leaders maximize their opportunities to achieve their goals and dreams. I began coaching in 2012 and added the Growth Coach to my business model in 2014 to provide additional tools to my clients,” Ellet said. “A business coach is like a professional sports coach – helping successful and talented people achieve greater results. Every successful athlete has had a coach pushing them and holding them accountable.
