The InterNational Electrical Testing Association is counting down to its 45th Anniversary celebration event at PowerTest 2017 — February 27 – March, 3, 2017 — with industry-wide activities, challenges, and recognition of electrical testing milestones.

Over the next several months, NETA will mark its 45th anniversary with a series of events and activities that celebrate the progress and accomplishments of the organization and the industry it serves. The celebration will culminate with the PowerBash Reception at PowerTest 2017 hosted at the Disneyland Hotel in Anaheim, California, on February 28, 2017. PowerTest is the premier electrical maintenance and safety conference, providing technical training for electrical power systems industry professionals.

“NETA and the industry have come a long way in 45 years, thanks to a collective commitment toward continual improvement across all sectors of the electrical power industry,” says Ron Widup, CEO of Shermco Industries and NETA’s Board President. “NETA will celebrate its shared successes with a salute to the industry’s advancements and achievements, and with a challenge to all power-related businesses to continue to raise the bar on quality, safety, and reliability.”

To help mark the coming occasion, the fall, winter, and spring issues of NETA World Journal will reflect on the electrical power systems industry’s evolution over the past 45 years.

The celebration is already underway through a historical trivia challenge. Anyone in the industry can test their knowledge against questions provided by industry suppliers and NETA Accredited Companies. The first set of questions can be found here. Participants are encouraged to submit their quiz answers to neta@netaworld.org to be eligible for a prize drawing at PowerTest 2017, where the 45th Anniversary celebration will culminate.

Founded in 1972 by nine electrical testing companies, NETA was created to establish standards for electrical testing of electrical power equipment and systems. Today, NETA is the only accrediting body of electrical testing organizations, providing assurances that its member NETA Accredited Companies meet specific requirements necessary to perform electrical testing to the industry’s highest standards.
