Nearly 300 Insurance Professionals Expected at Second Annual CHART Exchange Event
Claymont, DE (PRWEB) September 30, 2016 -- Nearly 300 insurance professionals will gather in Baltimore next week to participate in the second annual meeting of the CHART Exchange. The event will take place at the Marriott Baltimore Waterfront Hotel, October 3-5.
CHART (Cover Holders and Risk Takers) is dedicated to growing the U.S./London marketplace through the identification and pursuit of new business opportunities. The meeting fosters the free exchange of ideas about new coverage offerings, under-served market niches and other relevant topics among syndicates from Lloyds of London (called Risk Takers), domestic insurance agencies and vendors specializing in the insurance industry.
Jim Masiello, the Founder, Chairman, and CEO of Alliance Holdings, Inc. and the Strategic Insurance Agency Alliance (SIAA) will provide the keynote address on Tuesday.
"We called our inaugural meeting in Philadelphia last year our ‘Declaration of Interdependence’ to underscore the symbiotic nature of the U.S./London marketplace," said Glenn Clark, president of Rockwood Programs and the "earliest adopter" of CHART.
This year’s theme will be “success stories” to highlight the entrepreneurial attendees who started and grew their businesses via a combination of determination and relationships with supportive partners like Lloyd’s.
Clark added, “Sharing their tales of success, and sometimes failure, can serve as a valuable learning tool for others. They also provide a source of inspiration to firms looking to launch a new product or program."
The agencies participating in the 2016 CHART this year meeting control over $15 billion in premium, a figure equivalent to the total amount of U.S.-based premium written by Lloyd’s last year.
“The goal of syndicate representatives participating in the CHART event will be to pursue potential new business opportunities without disintermediating existing distribution channels,” says Clark.
“Based on my experience within the U.S./London marketplace, I believe the timing of CHART’s emergence is absolutely perfect," said Robert J. Hilb, founder and CEO of the Hilb Group and a participant at this year’s event. “The organization can educate domestic insurance agencies on the power of Lloyd’s and how it can be a huge advantage to them.”
The CHART event will offer informative workshops and panels, moderated by industry experts and numerous networking opportunities. To learn more about CHART and the Baltimore event, visit the website at http://www.chart-exchange.com. Clark can also be contacted directly at (302) 765-6001.
