Verizon Subscribes to the PENETRON Family Plan
East Setauket, New York (PRWEB) October 11, 2016 -- For its new and remodeled retail stores, Verizon Wireless looked to PENETRON Specialty Products (PSP) for optimal floor preparation products. The LEVELINE self-leveling underlayment and VB 225 moisture vapor reduction system were applied to the concrete floors to ensure a flawless finish.
The Verizon Wireless project managers needed to upgrade ten new and existing retail stores located across the New Jersey-New York region. To ensure the stores maintained an attractive and modern look, they expected perfect results.
“The Verizon projects were a team effort,” says Peter Trainor, PENETRON Specialty Products Vice President of Sales. “Apollo Distributing Company, a PENETRON distributor for New Jersey and New York, worked with Custom Flooring & Interiors, the installer, to come up with a competitive offer that impressed Verizon – and they have been off and running ever since!”
The flooring work was carried out in larger Verizon stores, each about 2,500-4,500 square feet in size. Because these locations are popular shopping destinations with consistently high foot traffic loads, the flooring solution called for a very durable and seamless solution. The new concrete floors in all ten stores were initially prepared using VB 225 FS, an extremely fast-setting moisture vapor reduction system used for projects requiring a very fast turnaround.
“With the PENETRON product, we can work very quickly,” adds Matt McCrudden, President of Custom Flooring & Interiors. “We came in, roughed up the floors with a sander, and the mix & pour took only about 2 ½ hours. The whole job, including the underlayment, was finished in a day!”
“It’s not only formulated for quick installation. Our VB 225 FS vapor mitigation system is also very easy to install,” adds Mr. Trainor. “We’ve had great success in a wide range of industrial, commercial and residential applications.”
Finally, a mere three hours after installation of the vapor mitigation system, the floors were leveled with LEVELINE 15, a self-leveling underlayment that works ideally as a wear surface in light duty applications for demanding interior applications like the Verizon stores. The storefront walls are constructed completely of glass, which admits a considerable amount of sunlight; any discrepancy or unevenness in the floors would be immediately apparent.
“My team and I are very happy with the performance of the PENETRON products. The results are very consistent and stable,” says Mr. McCrudden. “The floors we completed for the Verizon stores look like glass!”
Karndeen vinyl planks were used as the final flooring.
“When it comes to floor prep, Matt McCrudden and his team at Custom Flooring know what they’re doing,” says Carl Embrey, Sales Manager for Apollo Distributing Company. “They have become one our best customers for PENETRON flooring products!”
Mr. Trainor adds, “The success Apollo has achieved with the PSP line of flooring products this year has been nothing short of impressive!”
“Thanks to our success with Verizon and the PENETRON products, we’re now tackling even larger projects in Midtown Manhattan,” says Mr. McCrudden. “There’s more to come!”
