FANCHEST Teams up with Star Tight End Greg Olsen to Raise Funds for his Receptions for Research Foundation
New York, September 28, 2016 (PRWEB) September 29, 2016 -- FanChest, the ultimate gifting company for sports fans, announced today its collaboration with All-Pro Tight End Greg Olsen and his Receptions for Research Foundation. This foundation provides resources needed to enhance and support the lives of those affected by congenital heart disease and breast cancer. Receptions for Research holds a special place in Olsen’s heart; his son, T.J., was diagnosed with a rare congenital heart condition and his mother, Sue, is a breast cancer survivor.
Olsen, a nine-year professional football player, is a standout player both on and off the field, as exhibited by his leadership that resulted in him being voted as a team captain. Olsen is now a member of FanChest’s advisory board where he will be involved in marketing, product innovation and company strategy, among other responsibilities. Olsen joins other board members, including Guatam Gupta (CEO, NatureBox), Nick Horbaczewski (CEO, Drone Racing League), Matt Hagel (Head of Finance, BarkBox), Sheetal Aiyer (COO, Sixpoint Brewery), Jay Bhatti (Co-Founder, Spock.com), and Justin Sloan (Venture Investor).
FanChest will be creating a special edition gift box this October to raise funds for Receptions for Research as part of Breast Cancer Awareness month. A portion of all sales will go directly to Olsen’s charity to aid in the fight of these diseases. Partnering with FanChest allows Receptions for Research to increase awareness for congenital heart disease and breast cancer.
Greg Olsen is thrilled to be a part of the FanChest team. “The opportunity to be involved in an exciting start-up and learn from the ground level while bringing more attention to my charity made for the perfect match,” said Olsen.
“We are ecstatic to welcome Greg to the FanChest team and partner with Receptions for Research,” said Jeff Lin, Co-Founder. “His involvement will further strengthen our ability to grow exponentially in the coming years, and provides us an opportunity to give back to the community.”

About FanChest
FanChest started as a bootstrapped operation in 2015 out of a small apartment by sports fanatics, Dan Weinberg and Jeff Lin. Dan spent eight years in sports marketing at NBC Sports and was one of the first five employees at Tough Mudder. At Tough Mudder, part of his role was managing their global eCommerce and event merchandise business. He noticed a shift in consumer preferences towards curation, convenience, and seamless gifting. Every category had a solution; Loot Crate for gamers, Dollar Shave Club for shaving, Trunk Club for apparel, and Bark Box for pets - nothing existed for sports. Combined with Jeff Lin’s experience of ten years on Wall Street, watching innovative companies come to market and disrupt industries, the two came together and FanChest was born.
Sales took off and early momentum was bolstered by recurring feedback from hundreds of consumers telling them they had finally found the perfect gift. Jeff and Dan built a team of people that do everything from running a warehouse, to finding exclusive gear, to providing the best customer service. Everyone involved has one goal — to create a product that delivers both amazing merchandise and lasting memories with friends and family. They want to celebrate GAMEDAY excitement all year long and now it is a reality.
