Woking based Microsoft Gold Partner, TVision Technology has successfully implemented Microsoft Dynamics NAV for Opia, one of the world’s leading risk-managed sales promotions consultancies.
Opia, based in Chertsey, contracted TVision to supply, implement and support Dynamics NAV, replacing an industry-specific solution. Ray Symons, Finance Director at Opia comments, “I had worked with TVision some years back and so knew that NAV would be a good option to explore.”
The project aims were to address requirements for fully integrated job / project functionality and finance. Job profitability being key. The solution deployed takes advantage of NAV’s G/L dimension functionality, enabling Opia to record and report against multiple job/project parameters whilst keeping financial & job/projects fully in sync.
“NAV proved to have been significantly enhanced since I last worked with it,” Ray Symons continues. “The improvements to the Jobs functionality mean we can now do detailed project accounting at task level.” The functionality improvements provided a good, standard fit to Opia’s requirements. This use of standard software meant that the solution could be delivered in six weeks, an aggressive timescale driven by the desire to be live for the new financial year.
The first phase of the project meets the needs of the finance team. A follow up phase will provide access to the project managers. Again, NAV improvements supporting remote access and user licensing appropriate to a light user surpassed expectations. The project managers will be able to access via the web client and monitor the activity and profitability of their projects.
“It is a great endorsement that previous users turn again to TVision in their new roles,” Pippa Odell, Managing Director, TVision. “Working with Opia on this project has meant we’ve gained another local client, proved the strength of NAV for project accounting and enjoyed working with Ray once more.”
