Concord, MA (PRWEB) October 06, 2016 -- safeandbright LLC, a US distributor of Scandinavian safety products, today announced the availability of high-intensity safeNbrite safety reflectors in the US. safeandbright LLC has secured distribution rights in North America with Safety Reflector Finland Oy to distribute the world’s first high-intensity prism-based pedestrian safety reflectors manufactured by Coreplast Laitila Oy, Finland.
According to the 2016 annual study from the Governors Highway Safety Association, the number of pedestrians killed in traffic crashes in the United States last year jumped by an estimated ten percent, the largest year-to-year increase since the statistics started being tracked four decades ago. Pedestrians now account for about 15 percent of all motor vehicle crash–related deaths, up from 11 percent a decade ago, the report concludes. The study also notes that 72% of the pedestrian fatalities happened after dark.

Unlike traditional safety reflectors, safeNbrite’s unique hard prism structure reflects light back with extremely high intensity (800–3000 C.I.L. – Coefficient of Luminous Intensity). Drivers using headlights will be able to detect a cyclist or pedestrian using a safeNbrite reflector from a distance up to three times farther than they would a person without a safeNbrite reflector, giving the drivers extra time to react.
