Fundraiser to Benefit Young Woman Paralyzed by O’Hare Bus Shelter
(PRWEB) September 29, 2016 -- Kendra Scott will host a Give Back Event at their Chicago store on Saturday, October 8, 2016 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. The company will donate 20 percent of proceeds from both in store and phone orders to Tierney Darden’s Rehabilitation Fund.
Tierney Darden of Mundelein, Illinois had just returned from a trip to Minneapolis with her mother and sister on August 2, 2015 when the bus shelter she was standing next to outside of O’Hare International Airport collapsed onto her during a storm. The accident left Tierney, a 24-year-old dance student, paralyzed from the waist down. Personal injury attorneys from the Chicago law firm of Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard, P.C. filed a lawsuit on her behalf (Case No. 2015 L 008311)
Since the accident, Tierney has had to overcome physical and emotional hurdles. The event coordinator for Kendra Scott Jewelry read about Tierney’s accident and wanted to host a fundraiser to help her.
“Tierney was excited to learn about the fundraiser as she loves jewelry,” her family said.
Tierney has customized a piece of jewelry named “The Tierney” that will be for sale at the event. Event details are as follows:
