The Path to Purchase Institute Announced the Winners of the 2016 Design of the Times Awards
Chicago, IL (PRWEB) October 01, 2016 -- The Path to Purchase Institute announced the winners of the 2016 Design of the Times Awards competition on September 21, during the Path to Purchase Expo in Rosemont, IL. The competition recognizes the most effective and innovative in-store activation tactics, displays and campaigns. One hundred and thirty-five finalists out of nearly 300 entries received bronze, silver, gold and platinum awards in supermarket/grocery, convenience, mass merchandisers and specialty retail categories. Platinum winners in each category competed for the overall “Best of the Times” award. The winners are:
- Best of the Times and Platinum, Specialty: LG Electronics for Best Buy TV Experience Wall entered by Design Phase.
- Platinum, Supermarket/Grocery: Old El Paso Publix Full Pallet for General Mills entered by Menasha Packaging Co.
- Platinum, Convenience: Sour Patch Kids Floorstand for Mondelez International entered by InnerWorkings.
- Platinum, Mass Merchandisers: Star Wars Millennium Falcon Display for The Walt Disney Co. entered by WestRock Merchandising Displays.

Leading consumer product marketers and retail executives – from companies such as Ahold USA, Brown-Forman, Crayola, Dell, Kellogg Co., Pfizer, SC Johnson, USA Today and Walgreens – judged the entries based on how well each executed the 4Cs of effective in-store activation criteria:

- Convey information
- Close the sale
