CRN International and Collisions Podcast Division Celebrate International Podcast Day
Hamden, CT (PRWEB) September 30, 2016 -- CRN International and its Collisions podcast division gathered its team today to help promote the power of podcasts in celebration of International Podcast Day.
The 40-year-old radio marketing company, which launched Collisions earlier this year, found a unique way to celebrate International Podcast Day on Sept. 30: The staff gathered on the staircase at corporate headquarters in Hamden, CT, holding placards that helped demonstrate the strength of podcasting and what there is to like about it.
International Podcast Day, launched in 2014, is dedicated to promoting podcasting worldwide through education and public engagement. A growing minority of Americans are listening to podcasts, according to Edison Research. About 21 percent of Americans age 12 or older say they have listened to a podcast in the past month, reflecting steady incremental growth since 2013 – when this share was 12 percent. There are said to be close to 300,000 podcasts.
Among the words on the CRN placards to commemorate the importance of podcasts were: entertaining, informative, personal, portable, engaging, on-demand, convenient, escape, intimacy, storytelling, and social, among others.
Collisions has already developed several shows: “Distraction,” hosted by ADHD expert Dr. Ned Hallowell; “The Car and Driver Podcast,” with the editors of Car and Driver magazine, and “The Official Sasquatch! Festival Podcast,” providing coverage of the Live Nation music festival. Coming soon are “Stockton!,” hosted by sportscaster icon Dick Stockton, and “Just The Right Book!,” a podcast hosted by independent bookseller icon Roxanne Coady of RJ Julia Booksellers.
