Park Cities Pet Sitter Selects The Street Dog Project and Feral Friends Community Cat Alliance as Donation Recipients for Their 2016 Presents 4 Pets Donation Drive
Dallas, Texas (PRWEB) October 03, 2016 -- For the 4th consecutive year, Park Cities Pet Sitter will be participating in the National Association of Professional Pet Sitters’ “Presents 4 Pets” donation drive, an annual event created to highlight the wonderful work many pet-based shelters and rescues are performing in the community.
This year, Park Cities Pet Sitter selected two charities to receive the donations they will collect in their Presents 4 Pets efforts: The Street Dog Project and Feral Friends Community Call Alliance. The Street Dog Project is comprised of a group of volunteers who are passionate about saving street dogs. The core team of volunteers that began the organization has significant experience capturing elusive street dogs and knows how to help them adjust to life in a loving home. The dogs they rescue are taken to the vet immediately so they can be examined, dewormed, vaccinated, spayed/neutered, heartworm tested (and treated if positive) and have any other medical needs addressed.
Feral Friends Community Cat Alliance’s mission is to actively assist the community in reducing feline overpopulation. They accomplish this mission through an aggressive TNR (trap/neuter return) program and through an adoption program that helps find homes for tame cats.
Park Cities Pet Sitter’s participation in Presents 4 Pets will kick off with a “Stuff the SUV” event that will be held on Saturday, October 22nd from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Hollywood Feed store located at 12300 Inwood Road in Dallas. Sewell Infiniti of Dallas---who has partnered with Park Cities Pet Sitter since 2013 on the Presents 4 Pets “Stuff the SUV” events---will once again donate the use of a brand new Infiniti SUV for the day. The Infiniti SUV will be parked in front of the Inwood Road Hollywood Feed store throughout the event, waiting for pet donations to be loaded into it.
Desired donations for The Street Dog Project include: dry dog food, treats, slip leads, martingale collars, tennis balls, flea and tick preventative medication, and Capstar flea treatment tablets.
Desired donations for Feral Friends Community Cat Alliance include: clumping cat litter and both wet and dry kitten and cat food.
Park Cities Pet Sitter also grants their client base the opportunity to donate by hosting donation drop-offs at the PCPSI offices during the week, or by having a PCPSI pet sitter pick up a donation from October 22nd through the end of November during a regularly scheduled pet sitting visit.
Park Cities Pet Sitter President, Joette White, says the Presents 4 Pets donation drive is an incredibly popular event for her staff and clients. “We are always blown away by the generosity that people show in supporting the Presents 4 Pets donation drive,” said White. "We obviously have a staff full of animal lovers, and so many of them are also active in pet-related charitable organizations. They do not hesitate to rally around great charities like The Street Dog Project and Feral Friends Community Cat Alliance, and are happy to help gather donations. We are also blessed with an incredibly caring group of clients as well, and they are so supportive of pet organizations like the ones we chose this year that are making a difference day in and day out in our community. While we get to provide daily dog walks and pet sitting to some of the most loved pets in the Dallas and Plano areas, we also want to be at the forefront of helping our community eradicate pet overpopulation. Presents 4 Pets is one way we can help do that.”
