GeoTech Radon Services, Inc. (formally Benner GeoTech Inc.), announces that it has expanded its business to better serve their customers. The company recently hired new employees. The increased awareness by the public and the new regulations in Montgomery County on radon and home sales were a driving factor in the expansion according to the owner, Mike Benner.

Montgomery County’s new law takes effect on October 1, 2016

As of October 1, 2016, County law requires that “a single-family home located in the County must be tested for radon before completing a sale of the home.” This requirement is contained in Chapter 40 of the County Code, as amended by County Bill 31-15.

Mike Benner has been providing radon mitigation services since 1998. Mike has seen radon levels in Frederick County exceeding 100 pCi/L and in Montgomery County exceeding 50 pCi/L. The EPA action level is 4 pCi/L. He has installed radon mitigation systems in homes, churches and apartment complexes. Mike is accredited with the National Radon Proficiency Program (NRPP) I.D. #101042RMT and a member of American Association of Radon Scientists & Technologists (AARST Professional Member I.D. #3003).
