Mixpo, the leading digital advertising solution for publishers, today announced the launch of their latest video ad product, In-Content Video Reveal. The new ad unit uses patent-pending inline technology to provide the first outstream advertising experience with player control scrubbing options and interactive capabilities. The format is the first of four new outstream video ads coming to Mixpo's platform that uses the new technology and provides publishers with an easy direct-sales outstream offering.

When the video ad loads, an actual inline, high-fidelity video file plays. Today, most companies chop up a video file into tiny images to circumvent the limitations of the native player on iOS. This work-around delivers an inline video in mobile web, but only in a low fidelity 10 – 12 framers per second, like a .gif file" says Salim Hemdani, chief technology officer of Mixpo. "This results in audio sync problems, and no video scrubber bar or other video controls. Mixpo delivers a seamless, high-fidelity video ad with 24 fps, inline in mobile web through our own player, which allows for layering in dynamic or other interactive elements on the video."

A survey conducted by Mixpo found that 100% of advertisers who buy outstream ads believe it is important to have a variety of video ad formats in their marketing mix. This underlies the importance for digital publishers to think about video ad inventory outside of pre-roll, including outstream and in-banner video ad placement. The research further found that 71% of advertisers and agencies see the adoption of outstream video ads growing in the next year, with premium inventory placement being the top benefit outstream ad units provide.
