Girl Scouts of California’s Central Coast (GSCCC) has announced their 2016 Fall Product Sale Program. The program is a friends and family sale that helps troops earn start-up money and provides an important ingredient for leadership by helping girls develop five skills: goal-setting, decision-making, people skills, money management and business ethics. Order taking is happening now and the funds help local Girl Scout troops activities and leadership programs, including STE(A)M (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) activities, camp, and field trips.

Girls can earn funds for troop activities at the start of the Girl Scout year by asking friends and family to help support their troop and council by subscribing or renewing their favorite magazines and ordering nuts and candy items. Additionally, donations of $6 can be made to GSCCC’s “Care to Share Product,” where Girl Scout troops make donations of products to local community organizations.

There are 14 nut and candy items available this year, with some items presented in decorative tins, gift boxes and mason jars, ready for the gift-giving season. The items range in price from $6 to $10 and include: Dark Chocolate Sea Salt Caramels, Peanut Butter Monkeys, Butter Toffee Peanuts, Honey Roasted Peanuts, Raisin Medley Mix, Chocolate Covered Almonds, Whole Cashews, Cranberry Trail Mix, Honey BBQ Snack Mix, Dark Chocolate Sea Salt Almonds, Mint Trefoils, Peppermint Bark, Chocolate Covered Pretzels and S’mores Mix.

By inviting friends and family to order from the Fall Product Sale, Girl Scouts can earn individual rewards such as the new “Dare to Dazzle” patch, or even a special personalized patch with their name and avatar, plush toys, t-shirts, totes and more—all while learning valuable business and life skills.
